Voluntarios Perrunos are individuals full of love and compassion for the dogs at the CEBIAM Sanctuary. These angels without wings, show up every day to visit, walk and play with these dogs. Without these visits, all the dogs would spend 24 hours a day locked in their cells without any meaningful socialization with people.

The Volunteers provide a day to day engagement with the dogs and thanks to these Volunteer’s dedication and commitment to the dogs, we can create miraculous changes in the dog’s health and behaviour. Keep in mind, that the majority of these dogs were abused, abandoned, enslaved in forced reproduction and that they never had an Owner that really loved them. For this reason, many of these dogs arrive with traumas that only through the Volunteer’s patience and affection can these issues be overcome and the dogs once more learn to trust in human beings.

It is by way of the dog walks, that our Volunteer Leaders can start to recognize the personality of each dog, …what the dog likes, what scares the dog, when is the dog happy or when the dog is in a bad mood. Can the dog thrive with another dog or are they too territorial? etc. Based on these experiences the Volunteer Leaders decide which dog should go with what Volunteer that day. This assignment process helps to ensure a good walk for both the dog and the volunteer.

Our CEBIAM Sanctuary dog walks are from Monday to  Sunday , between 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. We respectfully request that you book your participation date one day in advance so that we can ensure that your place has been noted in the Volunteers list for that date.
