K9 Lifesavers Mexico Dog Rescue

K9 Lifesavers Mexico is a non profit dog rescue organization located in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico, dedicated to saving lives of abused and abandoned Mexican street dogs.

The majority of our volunteer efforts are directed to the assistance of the street dogs that arrive at the CEBIAM animal sanctuary ( the Municipal Dog Pound ), while at the same time K9 Lifesavers Mexico also supports private street dog rescues carried out by caring and concerned individual rescuers. Through your donations ( approx. 70% ), K9 Lifesavers helps to take care of dogs during their stay at the animal sanctuary, ensuring they get qualified veterinarian care. The dogs are walked every morning by our volunteers from the local community and even tourists staying in Playa for a few weeks who want to donate their time. We assist with various clinical tests    ( blood tests, ultra-sounds and X-rays ) as well as guaranteeing that the rescued dogs get the necessary medicine to help keep them in a healthy condition for their permanent adoption family. K9 Lifesavers Mexico uses the balance of all received donations to support the efforts of private rescues, which helps to ensure more street dogs are saved from a life of abandonment and misery.

K9 Lifesavers Mexico also looks for temporary foster homes where the rescued dogs can learn to trust people again. Later on, they can be placed in permanent & loving adoption family homes, both nationally and internationally by way of our local and foreign partners. Thanks to your donations, K9 Lifesavers Mexico can help save the lives of these rescued dogs and together we can educate and foster a humanitarian response to the Mexican street dog dilemma in Playa del Carmen.
