We work very hard with our partners to try and save as many dogs as possible that enter the CEBIAM Sanctuary. Sadly, these dogs are just a fraction of the dogs that need our help. The majority of abused and mistreated dogs that arrive at the CEBIAM Sanctuary have been called into the authorities by concerned neighbors and citizens. However many more dogs are abandoned in the streets, far from their homes by heartless dog owners. They live in fear day and night while they search for food and water. They live with sadness of having been abandoned and losing their security.

You can find these dogs almost everywhere you drive. You can generally tell which ones have been let free to roam by their owners, which ones are recently lost and which ones have spent many months in the streets. Sometimes we find hurt and injured dogs left to die on the pavement. In other cases, the dogs are so covered with matted hair and ticks that they are barely recognizable.

In these cases, K9 Lifesavers Mexico A.C., like many of our partners step in where the CEBIAM Sanctuary cannot. We become involved in what is known as a private rescue.
We get the dog medical attention, get it bathed and groomed, arrange blood testing to analyze its overall health status and we provide Temporary Home Fostering for the dog until it can be adopted by a loving home. The cost is enormous and it is very difficult to do this work on our own.
