Moni — A Little Heart Full of Courage

Some dogs enter your life quietly.
Moni enters it with a smile that stays with you forever.

She is sweetness in its purest form — gentle, happy, affectionate beyond words. The kind of little soul who leans into you as if she has always known you. The kind of dog who doesn’t just want to be near you… she wants to belong to you.

When we noticed unusual respiratory movements while she slept, we knew we needed answers. After thorough veterinary evaluations — chest X-rays, heart and lung exams, and an electrocardiogram — we received difficult news.

Moni is living with neurological sequelae from distemper she contracted earlier in life.

Because of this, she experiences:
• Constant diaphragm convulsions, 24 hours a day
• A persistent heart arrhythmia

Her heart is structurally healthy. But the virus left a mark on her nervous system.

And yet… it did not touch her spirit.

At around two years old, Moni loves with her whole being. She seeks eye contact. She follows you gently. She rests beside you as if she knows how precious safety is. She has a medium energy level — playful and bright, but equally content simply being close to her person.

Moni is not looking for a perfect life.
She is looking for a compassionate one.

She needs a special adopter — someone with an open heart, someone willing to embrace a dog with a medical condition, someone who understands that sometimes the most fragile lives carry the strongest love.

She does not need pity.
She needs commitment.
She needs stability.
She needs someone who sees her condition — and chooses her anyway.
