Take Home A Young Dog
Raising a puppy requires a serious commitment of time, patience, and energy. Puppies need to eat several times a day and must go outside immediately after meals to prevent accidents while they are learning to be house-trained. Expect frequent clean-ups and interrupted nights, as young puppies often wake up needing attention.
They cannot be left alone for long periods and should stay in a travel kennel when unsupervised to support training and prevent destructive behavior. Puppies explore the world by chewing and testing everything around them, and without proper training and socialization, they can be hyperactive and unruly.
They need consistent training, exercise, and supervision—especially during the first six months. Before adopting, ask yourself: Do you have the time, flexibility, and patience to meet these needs? If not, you may want to consider adopting an adult dog instead.
